Coal Slurry Dewatering After Washing

Coal washing can leave a slurry containing recoverable solids and process water. The separation duty depends on how much of the feed settles readily and how much remains suspended.

Process and Equipment Selection

Measure solids concentration and the fine fraction before choosing a process. A dewatering deck can drain free water from a retained coarse fraction. Very fine solids may need a separate thickening or filtration stage before water is reused.
